The II International Electronics and Home Appliances Exhibition HomeTech & Electra 2025 Concluded in Almaty

Manufacturers of household appliances, electronics, and home goods from across the region presented their latest innovations at one of Central Asia’s largest exhibitions – the International Electronics and Home Appliances Exhibition HomeTech & Electra 2025.

The recent exhibition season demonstrated steady growth and strong interest from both manufacturers and the professional community: the number of participants nearly doubled compared to the pilot exhibition, while retaining exhibitors from the inaugural HomeTech & Electra.

The grand opening ceremony of HomeTech & Electra 2025 was attended by honored guests from Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Japan, Turkey, and other countries.

As noted by the Deputy Chairperson of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aigul Yepbayeva: “The HomeTech & Electra exhibition has established itself as a platform where both manufacturers and retailers meet. For the Ministry of Trade, the turnover of the economy is very important, and household appliances and electronics play a special role in it. Moreover, we are witnessing the rapid development of e-commerce: its share has already reached 14% of Kazakhstan’s total trade turnover, which is a very significant volume, and we believe that all participants of this exhibition will contribute to the development of our trade.”

Visitors showed strong interest in the business forum program “Development of the Electronics and Digital Technologies Market in Central Asia and Adjacent Regions,” held with the support of the Authorized Organization of the International Enterprise Cooperation Promotion Service and the China Chamber of Commerce for Electronics under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The forum brought together more than 100 participants: senior executives and representatives of профильных государственных органов, state companies, professional associations, industrial organizations, and international business structures and trade missions.

Presentations were delivered by participants of the international initiative to establish the Data Security Joint Development Center and the Center for Standardization of Cryptography Demonstration Applications for SCO countries.

The session curator and moderator, Chief Expert of the Working Committee of the Digital Technology Platform for SCO countries Mark Law, recalled the recent SCO Digital Economy Conference and Forum, where three major Sino-Kazakh digital projects were signed, emphasizing: “These projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan and can become a locomotive for all of Central Asia, strengthening the digital sovereignty of the entire region.”

Experts also discussed issues of state support for manufacturing, cross-border trade, the impact of digitalization on attracting investment to Kazakhstan, and the development of the electronics and digital technologies market.

As noted during the panel discussion by Chairman of the Board of QazInnovations National Agency for Innovation Development JSC Sanat Zholdykhan: “Digitalization is not just a trendy cliché; it is largely a matter of competitiveness, sovereignty, and security. Here, we must take a differentiated approach and adopt technologies from different countries.”

Special emphasis was placed on the active participation and support of Altyn Bank JSC in organizing the business forum, which also presented products and innovative solutions for business support and development at its stand.

Notably, within the framework of HomeTech & Electra 2025, the “China (Ningbo) International Consumer Goods Fair – Kazakhstan” was officially presented as a key regional sector of China at the exhibition. Supported by the Ningbo Municipality, a showcase covering over 500 sq. m. featured electronics and household goods, promoting high-quality, innovative, and eco-friendly products, along with meetings with buyers and distributors from Central Asia.

As emphasized by General Director of Ningbo Younage Exhibition Co. LTD Shi Guoping: “The main goal of the ‘China (Ningbo) International Consumer Goods Fair – Kazakhstan’ is to establish partnerships between Ningbo manufacturers and Kazakhstani businesses. One of the key priorities is entering the Central Asian market and developing Silk Road cooperation. Given the current context, we will sign a cooperation agreement for 2026.”

An important milestone was also the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the exhibition organizer World Silk Way LLP, represented by co-founder Assiya Burlibayeva, and Ningbo Younage Exhibition Co., headed by Shi Guoping.

Another highlight of the exhibition was a conference held with the support of the Professional TANU Association – a community of interior designers and architects of Kazakhstan. Experts from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan discussed trends, technologies in design, and provided professional recommendations.

A key moment was the award ceremony for the winners of the HomeTech & Electra 2025 Interior Designers and Architects Competition. Participants were tasked with integrating 3D models of exhibitors’ products into their designs. The grand prize winner was Anton Petrakov from Almaty with the project “Urban Scandi Minimalism,” selected from 120 entries. He will receive a trip to factories in China.

More than 3,000 professionals attended the second season of the exhibition. Specialists from Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Russia actively exchanged experience and shared their impressions.

“We introduced a new development – a plotter that allows cutting protective solutions for any device, from smartwatches to automotive multimedia systems. We are considering entering the Kazakhstan market, and HomeTech & Electra proved to be the most suitable exhibition to explore it. We received strong interest and established valuable contacts, so we expect to enter the market soon,” said CEO of Lamel Spb Vitaliy Fedchenko, representing the Polish brand “MyScreen”.

Buyers also highlighted the “Made in Kazakhstan” section, which included Silk Road Constructions plants and the Almaty Household Appliances Plant. The diversity of brands and product range significantly expanded sourcing opportunities.

“Our company is looking to expand its product range and find new brands, especially from China. The exhibition left a very positive impression – it is a large-scale project. We identified several promising partners and will now evaluate pricing, logistics, and terms,” noted Category Manager of Texnomart (Uzbekistan) Diana Trunbetova.

The organizers also arranged a dedicated B2B corner featuring Samruk-Kazyna Contract LLP, Wildberries, Airba Technodom, Texnomart (Uzbekistan), Halyk Market, and WAK (Tajikistan). All companies held B2B sessions, while Samruk-Kazyna Contract representatives also provided консультации бизнесу.
